Peugeot 908 wins in Zhuhai!!!

Stephane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny, in a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, won the 1000km of Zhuhai, the third and final round of the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in China!!!

They finished less than five seconds ahead of the Audi R15 TDI of Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish.

The sister car of Dindo Capello/Romain Dumas completed the podium.

The two French cars qualified on the front row and rapidly pulled out a handy lead but Kristensen/McNish fought back to muscle its way into the lead.

But the outcome was finally decided by the respective pit stop strategies of the leading two.

With an hour remaining, a tangle with another car deprived Simon Pagenaud and Sebastien Bourdais of a podium finish in the number one Peugeot.

But the third straight win for Peugeot handed the team the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup manufacturers' title.

Following strong outings in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and at Road Atlanta, the new Porsche GT-R Hybrid secured the GT2 win with ALMS champs Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long behind the wheel. The German car finished sixth overall at Zhuhai.

The LMGT2 crown went to Ferrari who finished seven points clear of Porsche. The class was won in China by the number 78 BMW.

The LMP2 class and the Michelin Green X Challenge were won by the number 35 OAK Racing Pescarolo-Judd.
