Berbatov fires United back to summit!!!

Dimitar Berbatov scored twice as Manchester United returned to the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 win away to Bolton Wanderers.

Jlloyd Samuel opened the scoring with an unfortunate and somewhat absurd own goal on 38 minutes, Berbatov provided two cool finishes after the break and substitute Darron Gibson completed the rout.
United leapfrogged Chelsea to go a point clear, and they are now four ahead of Arsenal who drew at Birmingham. It completed a satisfactory evening for United that began amid injury worries over two of their leading players.
Fears over the state of Wayne Rooney's knee inflammation appear to be well-founded after the England striker was left out of United's match squad altogether despite having a week to recover since their last game against Liverpool.
Less surprising was the omission of Rio Ferdinand, following his umpteenth back twinge of the season - both absences will cause major concern for fans of both United and England with the World Cup less than three months away.
The first half initially offered little in the way of excitement before exploding into life late on. Ryan Giggs returned from a broken arm and was deployed through the middle to replace some of Rooney's spark, but the Welshman failed to assert himself.
United carved out some half-chances, with Berbatov volleying at Jussi Jaaskelainen and Jonny Evans thrashing a left-foot shot over following a corner.
But Bolton came closer, bringing two world class saves from Edwin van der Sar. First Johan Elmander raced onto an exceptional through ball from Jack Wilshere, but saw his shot repelled by the Dutchman's strong wrist at the near post.
Then Van der Sar had to be at his acrobatic best to leap and tip over a Fabrice Muamba shot that appeared destined for the top-left corner.
But between those two saves came Samuel's aberration. Giggs sent in a low cross from the left and Samuel met it at the back post, planting the ball back across goal into the far corner, giving Jaaskelainen no chance. A great finish, if only he had meant it.
It was the 11th own goal scored in United's favour in the Premier League this season - the previous record for any side is six.
Sir Alex Ferguson launched a furious half-time rant at referee Martin Atkinson after he felt Sam Ricketts had led with his elbow when jumping with Nani, although his challenge was fairly innocuous.
Ferguson's fury was put into perspective after the break when Nemanja Vidic caught Elmander with an altogether heftier blow to the head when leaping for a header. There was no suggestion of malicious intent from the Serb, but he caught Elmander with a forearm that drew blood.
While the Swede was receiving treatment, United made it two on 68 minutes. Giggs played a perfectly-weighted ball inside from the left for the marauding Darren Fletcher, who raced to the edge of the box.
The normally unselfish Scot this time ignored the supporting Nani and struck a left-foot shot that Jaaskelainen could only parry into the path of Berbatov, and the Bulgarian - coolness personified - tucked away the rebound.
It was fitting that Fletcher and Berbatov combined to score the clinching goal since the pair were, by a distance, United's best players on the day.
Berbatov was in his element, and added further gloss to the scoreline on 78 minutes, finding the net with an audacious flick off the outside of his boot following good work by Nani to conjure space to cross from the left.
Nani was the provider again four minutes later, stitching up poor Ricketts again before squaring for the substitute Gibson. The Irishman's sidefoot shot went in off the underside of the bar.
The emphatic scoreline provided a reply to Chelsea, who thrashed Aston Villa 7-1 earlier on Saturday, and ensured Bolton's goal difference worsened to the extent that they dropped a place, falling below Wolves to 15th in the Premier League table.

First Ferrari 458 Italia in US raises $530,000 for Haiti!!!

Ferrari has raised $601,000 for relief efforts in Haiti by the CMMB (Catholic Medical Mission Board) and the William J. Clinton Foundation. At the star studded gala event, the first Ferrari 458 Italia to arrive in America was auctioned off for $530,000. US prices for Maranello’s latest isn’t out yet, but it’s priced close to £170,000 in the UK, which translates to nearly $255,000, so the unnamed buyer “gave away” quite a bit for charity.

Hosted by Piero Ferrari, Deputy Chairman, Amedeo Felisa, worldwide CEO of Ferrari, and Marco Mattiacci, the newly appointed North America CEO, the party was attended by over 500 guests and Ferrari aficionados, including John Mayer, Jeremy Renner, Patrick Dempsey, Aaron Eckhart, Joel McHale, Malin Ackerman, Mollie Simms and Katie Cassidy.

Other things to go under the hammer was Fernando Alonso’s original racing suit (which raised $31,000) and two “experiences as a Scuderia Ferrari team member” at the Canadian Grand Prix in June, which went for $20,000 and $21,000.

It was also announced that the Department of Orthopedics and Hand Surgery of the University of Modena will make its knowledge and resources available to help CMMB in Haiti. A team of hand and microsurgery specialists, whose studies have been financed by Ferrari, will help out in the earthquake wrecked Caribbean nation.

Premier League - Park heads United back to top!!!

Manchester United returned to the top of the Premier League table as they broke their losing run against Liverpool by beating them 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Fernando Torres opened the scoring for Liverpool early on before Pepe Reina saved a Wayne Rooney penalty, only for the England striker to tap in the rebound. United then completed the comeback to seal victory on the hour mark via a header from Park Ji-sung.
United retook their place at the top of the table, two points above Arsenal, who led the title race for less than 24 hours following Saturday's win over West Ham United.
As ever, this fixture needed little added spice. However, not only was ground in both the title race and the fight for the final Champions League spot at stake, but there was also the added pressure on Liverpool to take their chance at stopping United sealing a 19th championship, surpassing the Anfield side's haul of 18 titles.
Five minutes in, Torres won the ball in the centre circle, found Steven Gerrard with a backheel and continued his run forward. Gerrard fed Dirk Kuyt out on the right and the Dutchman chipped in a cross. Torres lost Gary Neville easily and rose unmarked to head past Edwin van der Sar for his 16th league goal of the season.
United were given the chance to level five minutes later when Antonio Valencia went down in the box after being fouled by Javier Mascherano. The initial foul looked to have been committed outside the area, but referee Howard Webb gave the penalty and booked the Argentine midfielder.
Rooney's spot-kick was well saved by Reina, but the ball rebounded kindly for Rooney tap in his 33rd goal in all competitions.
The rest of the half was evenly contested, with a well-organised Liverpool coping well as United saw more of the ball. The home side's chances were limited, with Reina tipping one effort from Nani round the foot of the post while Park sent one header wide and another over the bar.
After the break, both sides played in even more measured fashion, and the game was there for the taking for whichever team took the initiative. That side was United.
Rooney found Darren Fletcher wide on the right on the hour mark. The Scotland midfielder waited by Gary Neville's overlapping run, which distracted Emiliano Insua long enough for him to curl in a cross that Park met with a decisive diving header.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez brought on Alberto Aquilani and Ryan Babel on with 15 minutes remaining, but they struggled to create any more clear openings as United sat back and defended their lead, confident of their ability to hit them on the break with a killer third goal if necessary.
Liverpool were presented with one gilt-edged chance to grab a share of the points in the final minute of the 90, but when the ball fell at the feet of Torres on the penalty spot the Spain striker scuffed his shot woefully. The ball looped up for Yossi Benayoun to head, but the ball was caught easily by van der Sar.

A MAN OF LETTERS: JGV'S ABC KITCHEN!!!

Two openings in two weeks means the man is at his absolute prime.

There's something A. List about explorers unabashedly staking claim to new frontiers. When Neil Armstrong tapped Old Glory into the moon, you can be darn sure he was thinking “this is pretty awesome” and not “I wonder if somebody else lives here.”
So too the welcome expansion of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's restaurant empire with ABC Kitchen, now open inside the ABC Carpet & Home Store off Union Square. His second project in as many weeks (the Mark opened last week), ABC has the appeal of a modern, well-groomed farmhouse: whitewashed floor, old wooden beams, white-painted brick, and the whimsical chandelier and glass flourishes you'd expect from a partnership with the eponymous store.
The farm-to-table menu matches, with greenmarket ingredients in dishes like Peekytoe Crab Toast, Shaved Fluke with Blood Oranges, Roasted Pork T-Bone with Apple Meyer Lemon Puree, and Chocolate Layer Cake with Toasted Marshmallow Icing – changing often and with the season.

City of God!!!(You should watch this movie before you die)

This is one of my favourite movie... This movie is from real life... it did not earn so much but it was one of the best movie ever.... It is a 2002 Brazilian crime drama film directed by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund. It depicts the growth of organized crime in the Cidade de Deus suburb of Rio de Janeiro, between the end of the '60s and the beginning of the '80s, with the closure of the film depicting the war between the drug dealer Li'l Zé and criminal Knockout Ned. The tagline is "Fight and you'll never survive..... Run and you'll never escape."

City of God received impressive positive acclaim from major publications in the United States, gathering 92% of favourable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Empire chose it as the 177th best film of all time in 2008, and Time chose it as one of the 100 greatest movies of all time.
In the UK it was ranked 3rd in Film4's "50 Films to See Before You Die".

Terbaek!!!

Anwar oh anwar!!!

Chelsea's summer shopping list!!!

With Chelsea's Champions League ambitions in tatters for another season, and Roman Abramovich apparently in the mood to spend, we take a closer look at some of the big-money targets being bandied around the back pages.

Fernando Torres (Liverpool, 25)

The Liverpool ace has repeatedly spoken of his commitment to the Merseyside club, but that dedication is being tested to breaking this season. Having left Atletico Madrid, his boyhood club, in search of major honours, the prospect of missing out on a Champions League place again next season will not be going down too well in the Spaniard's camp. Torres has reportedly demanded four or five high profile signings before committing his future to Liverpool, but with ongoing boardroom unrest and financial constraints, such lavish enhancement of the current squad seems unlikely.
Chelsea will have to pay an enormous fee to land Torres, but if the Spaniard gives the slightest indication that he would be open to a move to the capital, Abramovich won't think twice about splashing out on one of the world's most revered forwards.
Possible price: £50m
Likelihood: 3/10

Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich, 26)

Linked with every major European club in every transfer window, it is thought that the tricky Bayern Munich winger will finally secure a move in the summer. Despite a long-winded reticence from Bayern to sell one of their prized assets, last summer's arrival of Arjen Robben from Real Madrid, and the sizeable transfer fee Ribery will command are likely to be sufficient for them to allow the Frenchman his move.
With John Terry publicly lobbying last summer for Chelsea to sign the man described by Zinedine Zidane as "the jewel of French football", the will be amongst the first in line when the next window opens on July 1.
Possible price: £40m
Likelihood: 6/10

Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid, 21)

The little Argentine has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea since scoring a fabulous brace for Atletico Madrid against the Blues in the group stage of this year's Champions League. In the past, the main stumbling block in any move for Diego Maradona's future son-in-law was his astronomic wage demands, combined with a reputed £40m transfer fee. However, with Abramovich seemingly intent on spending as much as is necessary for Europe's top talent, a move that would see 24 year-old Aguero become comfortably one of Chelsea's highest earners may well be given the green light this summer.
Possible price: £35-40m
Likelihood: 5/10

David Villa (Valencia, 28)

Another player repeatedly linked to the top clubs in Europe, Valencia's David Villa is a rare commodity: one of the most prolific talents in European football, seemingly open to a move, and at a club apparently desperate to sell their top players. Unfortunately for Chelsea, the reason he is yet to leave Valencia is the club's insistence in recouping top dollar (reportedly at least £40m) for their forward, regardless of their perilous financial situation. With such an enormous price tag coupled with Villa's previously stated desire to stay in La Liga, Madrid has always been his likeliest destination. However, with Real's big spending apparently over, and Villa's January assertion that he admires the Premier League, Chelsea may well be in pole position to finally land the Spanish league's 10th all-time leading scorer.
Possible price: £30m
Likelihood: 6/10

Angel Di Maria (Benfica, 22)

A less established name than others on this list, Di Maria's performances for Benfica this season have attracted a host of European giants to register their interest in the highly-rated 22 year-old winger. Central to Benfica's 5-0 Europa League demolition of Everton earlier this season, the Argentine has already hinted an ability to flourish against Premier League opposition. However, Chelsea will likely face competition from both Manchester clubs, as well as Barcelona, for his signature in the summer. Furthermore, having seen their young star recently put pen to paper on a five-year contract featuring a £36m get-out clause, Benfica appear more than happy to play hardball with potential suitors, suggesting Chelsea may have to pay well over the odds to get their man.
Possible price: £25-35m
Likelihood: 8/10

Maicon (Internazionale, 28)

A player linked to Chelsea long before his outstanding display on Tuesday night, a move for Internazionale's right-back Maicon may well spell the end of Jose Bosingwa's Chelsea career. Frustrated by injuries, the Blues' full-back was repeatedly linked to Bayern Munich last summer as a makeweight in a move for Franck Ribery. If Bosingwa were to make a move when the transfer window next opens, Abramovich will surely seek to replace him with Inter's Brazilian, who auditioned so ruthlessly at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. The big question is, if Jose Mourinho manages to guide Inter to Champions League glory, will Maicon want to leave?
Possible price: £35m
Likelihood: 4/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich, 25)

With the capacity to play centrally or on either wing, Schweinsteiger offers a diverse attacking threat which could prove very useful if Chelsea choose to dispense with utility player Juliano Belletti in the summer. Having spent his entire senior career at Bayern Munich, rumours persist that the German midfielder is ready for a new challenge, with Chelsea ready to swoop should they fail to land Franck Ribery when the transfer window opens.
Possible price: £25m
Likelihood: 8/10

Marek Hamsik (Napoli, 22)

Napoli's young Slovakian playmaker seems a perfect fit for Chelsea: tall, strong, and expensive. However, at a rumoured £20m, Hamsik represents good value compared to the more stellar names on this list, as well as being young enough to fit with Abramovich's intent to rejuvenate his ageing squad. Currently excelling in a stagnating Serie A, Hamsik will likely garner furious attention from a host of clubs this summer, despite Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis issuing a 'hands off' warning earlier this month.
Possible price: £20m
Likelihood: 7/10

Newcastle win again!!!

Andy Carroll netted a brace as Newcastle United cruised to a 3-0 win against Scunthorpe United at St James' Park.

Matchcast: Newcastle v Scunthorpe
Championship table
In a match the Magpies dominated from start to finish, Carroll grabbed his 13th goal of the season on 10 minutes with a powerful header and Peter Lovenkrands doubled the the home side's advantage with a clinical finish midway through the first half.
Carroll added a third with a delicate finish soon after the restart to seal the win and send the Magpies four points clear at the top of the Championship.
Newcastle are unbeaten at home in the league and Lovenkrands almost opened the scoring after seven minutes after cutting inside and forcing Iron keeper Joe Murphy to parry.
But the Magpies had to wait just three minutes before taking the lead.
Carroll showed good movement to get free of Scunthorpe's attentions and powered a header into the net from Danny Guthrie's corner.
Kevin Nolan was then denied a goal by an offside flag two minutes later and Lovenkrands thumped the Scunthorpe bar after Murphy spilled a shot.
Newcastle were all over their hapless opponents and Carroll again came close with an effort that Murphy punched away.
The Iron were a shadow of the side that defeated the Magpies 2-1 in October and Murphy was again called into action to deny Lovenkrands.
Scunthorpe could only count two wayward Michael O'Connor free-kicks in the first 45 minutes and it was no surprise when the Magpies extended their lead 10 minutes after the restart.
Guthrie played a superb 60-yard diagonal ball to Carroll and the Newcastle man drew Murphy before chipping the ball into the net for his 14th of the season.
Scunthorpe sub Sam Togwell was the first Iron to test Steve Harper when he forced the keeper into a smothering save, but it was soon business as usual as Carroll headed wide from an awkward position.
Jonas Gutierrez was guilty of a wayward shot, followed by one from Scunthorpe's Grant McCann, before Jose Enrique hit the side-netting from an acute angle.
Gutierrez did get the ball into the net on 70 minutes, but the offside flag prevented any masked celebrations and Iron sub Donal McDermott was then off target with one of the visitors' rare sights of goal.
Nile Ranger came on for the hosts and when he failed to get on the end of a loose ball following Gutierrez's strike on 87 minutes, the Magpies had to settle for the three goals.
The win means Newcastle are now 12 points clear of the play-off places and have one foot firmly placed in the Premier League, while the Irons go into a desperate six-pointer against Plymouth on Saturday.
